Excursion with which you can visit the main tourist attractions of the city, among which there is rides in the quiet and peaceful Momon River, a tributary of the great Amazon. During this tour will navigate for 3 major rivers (Nanay, Momon and Amazonas), seeing the most important of the Amazon fauna and also knowing the tribe of the Boras, known worldwide for having participated in numerous films, documentaries and reality shows.

Itinerary

Day 01: Iquitos / Amazon Camp Lodge (L-D)

  • 09.00 Transfer to Iquitos and the Nanay river port (brief orientation on the main tourist attractions of the city along the way).

  • 09:30 Navigation on the Amazon River, the largest river in the world. You will appreciate the magnificence of the river, the exuberance of the jungle and the picturesque villages that show their particular color and joy. we arrive at our first stop, a nature reserve where we´ll see the famous Victoria Regia, the largest ornamental plant in the Amazon and you will have the opportunity to meet and feed the paiches, lizards and piranhas.

  • 12:00 Down on the Amazon, one of the 7 natural wonders of the world, visit an animal sanctuary where you can observe totally free different species of monkeys, toucans, macaws, a prehistoric turtle called mata-mata, sloths and boa constrictor or the famous anaconda.

  • 13:30 Continuing our journey down the Amazon River, then the Nanay river and enter later into the Momon river to arrive to our lodge Amazon Camp.

  • 14:00 Lunch at the Amazon Camp self service.

  • 15:30 Walk through the forest to see one of the best known of the Amazon jungle tribes, the tribe of the Boras. Participating in their dances and knowing their customs and way of life.

  • 19:00 Dinner at Amazon Camp.

  • 20:30 Night excursion through the lush forest in order to observe different species of insects, tarantulas, frogs, scorpions, monkeys and nocturnal birds.

  • 22:00 Overnight at the lodge.

Day 02: Amazon Camp Lodge (B-L-D)

  • 5:30 Observation of sunrise and listening and watching different species of birds (optional).y escucha y avistamiento de diferentes especies de aves (opcional).

  • 08:00 Breakfast in the Amazon Camp.

  • 9:00 On route 4 rivers (Momon, Nanay, Itaya and Amazon), to watching gray and pink dolphins and visit the sightseeing tower of independence community for better observation of the Amazon River and its tributaries.

  • 11:00 Walk from the Native Community of Independence to see a huge tree Lupuna (Sequoya) of about 70 meters high. You can try to climb their lianas, watching bats and walk through the jungle to a small waterfall where you can cool off if you wish.

  • 13:00 Lunch at Amazon Camp.

  • 15:00 Piranha fishing near the lodge and optionally bathing in the river.

  • 19:00 Dinner at Amazon Camp.

  • 20:30 Film session with one of the big productions that have been filmed in our lodge (Predator, Anaconda or Pantaleón and the visitors).

  • 22:00 Overnight at the lodge.

Day 03: Amazon Camp Lodge (B-L)

  • 5:30 Observation of sunrise and listening and watching different species of birds (optional).y escucha y avistamiento de diferentes especies de aves (opcional).

  • 08:00 Breakfast in the Amazon Camp.

  • 09:00 Departure by boat to visit the Cocama community Padrecocha, then walk to the Pilpintuwasi or butterfly farm where you can learn the different phases of the metamorphosis of butterflies, besides observing different species of animals like monkeys, jaguars, birds, capybaras, turtles, agoutis, manatees and alligators in their habitat.

  • 13:00 Lunch at Amazon Camp.

  • 15:00 Canoeing or visit the native community of San Andrés.

  • 19:00 Dinner at Amazon Camp.

  • 20:30 Film session with one of the big productions that have been filmed in our lodge (Predator, Anaconda or Pantaleón and the visitors).

  • 22:00 Overnight at the lodge.

Day 04: Amazon Camp Lodge / San Antonio (B-L-D)

  • 08:00 Breakfast in the Amazon Camp.

  • 09:00 Boat ride on the Momon river for about 2 hours to the riverine community of San Antonio, observe different villages and the calm and peaceful waters of the Momon River in stunning scenery.

  • 12:00 Arrival to the town of San Antonio, learning of the town and then people and preparing lunch.

  • 14:30 Botanical walk with explanation of the characteristics of the plants of the Amazon rainforest medicinal properties, timber, fruit, bromeliads, orchids, heliconias, etc. Observation of Renacos and ceibas (kapok giant trees).

  • 18:00 Dinner at the cabin of a denizen of San Antonio.

  • 19:00 Night excursion in the virgin forest surrounding San Antonio with the possibility to see different species of monkeys, tarantulas, spiders, foxes, tapirs, peccaries and other animals in the area.

  • 22:00 Overnight in the cotage of a resident of San Antonio.

Day 05: San Antonio / Amazon Camp Lodge (B-L-D)

  • 05:30 Bird watching at dawn to observe when they leave their nests in search of food in the river, including cotingas, macaws, parrots, king vultures and probably the Harpy Eagle.

  • 07:00 Breakfast in the jungle.

  • 8:00 Excursion in the jungle the way you can observe giant trees as Lupuna (Ceiba pentandra), the Capirona, the Capinurí (Heliocóstilis scabra) and birds like the toucan (Pteroglossus) Red Macaw (Ara macao), Macaw Amarillo (Ara ararauna), Great Egret (Egreta alba), Kingfisher (Chloroceryle).

  • 13:00 Arrival to the town of San Antonio and preparing for lunch.

  • 14:00 Afternoon fishing in the streams of San Antonio, where you can watch birds and fish. Among the fish species found in the reserve are the piranha (Serrasalmus), shad (Brycun americus), sardines (Triportheus), among others.

  • 16:30 Return by boat to Amazon Camp.

  • 19:00 Dinner at Amazon Camp.

  • 22:00 Overnight at the lodge.

Day 06: Amazon Camp Lodge (B-L-D)

  • 08:00 Breakfast in the Amazon Camp.

  • 09:00 Bethlehem Route "The Amazon Venice" traveling around the 4 rivers (Momon, Nanay, Itaya and Amazon). Watching of dolphins, gray and / or pink at the junction of waters between the Nanay, Itaya and Amazon rivers. Visit the floating city of Bethlehem river. The neighborhood of Bethlehem, is also known as The Amazon Venice or simply Bethlehem. It is said that he who does not know Bethlehem, doesn’t know Iquitos. Its name is due to its special architecture, mainly composed of houses built on stilts and household pools (located beyond the edge of the Itaya river). Seasonally suburban life changes of pace because the rising and lowering of the Itaya waters.

  • 13:00 Lunch at Amazon Camp.

  • 15:00 Visit to the native community of San Andrés.

  • 19:00 Dinner at Amazon Camp.

  • 20:30 Night excursion through the lush forest in order to observe different species of insects, tarantulas, frogs, scorpions, monkeys and nocturnal birds.

  • 22:00 Overnight at the lodge.

Day 07: Amazon Camp Lodge / Iquitos (B-L)

  • 08:00 Breakfast in the Amazon Camp.

  • 09:00 Transfer from the Amazon Camp lodge to the port Bellavista - Nanay and later to the Plaza de Armas of Iquitos, a city founded in the nineteenth century which reached its height during the rubber boom, where we begin with our city tour

  • 10:00 Observation of the colonial era buildings that conserve its beautiful mosaics and wrought iron balconies brought from Europe.

  • 10:15 Visit the"Iron House" designed by renowned French architect Gustave Eiffel and know the story of it´s setting on the main square of Iquitos.

  • 10:30 Visit the Morey House. fully restored house whith belonged to one of the largest rubber tappers of Iquitos in the early twentieth century.

  • 10:45 Visit the Amazon Museum, which houses 80 sculptures of Peruvian / Swedish artist Felipe Lettersten depicting the various Amazonian ethnic groups.

  • 11:30 Walk around the market of Bethlehem and its floating neighborhood. The most quaint and curious neighborhood of the city.

  • 13:00 Tour Manatees Rescues center, where you can learn more about these peaceful mammals and learn more about recovery system of this species in the Amazon rivers. You can even feed them.
  • 14:00 Tour Quistococha Zoo. Zoocriadero with 70 rescued Amazonian species, natural lagoon with rowboats and paddles to rent, conditioned beach of white sand and restaurants.

  • 14:15 Lunch at a restaurant Quistococha.

  • 15:30 Tour Quistococha park (possibility of bathing in its lake of white sand beach).

  • 17:00 Return to the airport or to your hotel.
