Unforgettable experience discovering the ayahuasca safely. Learn about the healing powers of medicinal plants and be part of the magical rituals of the Master Shaman.

Itinerary :

Day 01: Iquitos / Lodge Amazon Camp (L-D)

  • 09:00 In the morning, reception at the airport and transfer to Iquitos and the Nanay river port (brief orientation on the main tourist attractions of the city along the way).

  • 10:00 Navigation in the Amazon, Itaya, Nanay and Momon rivers to reach the Amazon Camp lodge, watching the intercrossing of the waters of these 4 great rivers, and all the colorful of the picturesque villages that show up with their particular color and joy.

  • 11:00 Arrival and accommodation at the Amazon Camp lodge located 30 minutes from Iquitos. The lodge is built in the native style with natural materials, surrounded by trees, plants and flowers on high ground, where abundant varieties of birds and butterflies are seen.

CULTURAL ECO circuit (Momon river Eco-system)

  • 11:30 Welcome drink made with fruit from the region (Cocona, camu camu, cupuaçu, etc.) and brief explanation of the safety standards and asignation of lodge rooms.

  • 13:00 Lunch at the Amazon Camp. The food in the lodge is based in the extensive use of natural and fresh products.

  • 15:00 Hiking or canoeing - as permitted by the season to the tribe of the Boras. You will learn their customs, see their unique apparel made of Oje tree bark (called the Chanchama).

  • 16:00 In the afternoon, guided ethnobotanic tour, identification of species of the Amazon plant kingdom such as Cat's Claw, Sour Cane, Copaiba, Aguaje and even the "dead vine" or Ayahuasca.

  • 17:00 Private interview with Master Shaman in his "tambo" (shack) where he holds sessions and ancestral rituals. Explanation of hallucinogenic plants and their effect on the magic circle. Evaluation of physical and mental condition of the participants.

  • 19:00 Light dinner at the lodge.

  • 21:00 Overnight stay.

Day 02: Amazon Camp Lodge (B-L-D)

  • 06:00 Early morning observation of the preparing of the "drink" of Ayahuasca. You will appreciate the Master Shaman preparing pieces of magic vine or "vine of the dead” accompanied by chants, incantations and prayers to the gods and demigods.

  • 08:00 Breakfast at the Amazon Camp.

  • 09:00 After breakfast, transfer by boat along Momon, Nanay, Itaya and Amazon rivers to get to see the floating city of Bethlehem and its wooden houses on rafts. On the way you will see the wonderful river dolphins, the intercrossing of the waters of the different rivers and the guide will delight you with different legends of the Amazon mythology.

Flora and Fauna Circuit (Nanay / Momon Rivers Basin Ecosystem)

  • 12:00 See typical plantations in agricultural waterfront or River banks.

  • 12:30 Walk on the rainforest trails and boat or canoe on the Momon River to visit the native community of San Andrés.

  • 13:00 Watch the rich avian fauna of the area. Observation of varieties of medicinal plants, epiphytes (bromeliads) growing high on the trees, orchids, different species of vines and other plants along with the guide's explanations on its traditional use in the jungle.

  • 14:00 Light lunch at Amazon Camp.

  • 15:30 Fishing by using native techniques to capture piranhas, bream, mullet, pompano, catfish and other species of catfish, apt for human consumption.

  • 17:00 Optional psychotherapeutic session before dinner to prepare participants before the Ayahuasca ritual.

  • 19:00 Light dinner in the Amazon Camp or fasting (recommended fasting or eating frugally before the ritual).

Ayahuasca Ritual

  • 21:00 Preparation of the magic circle among the participants gathered in the "tambo" of Master Shaman.

  • 21:30 Using variety of aromatic fragrances and esoteric utensils, including "shakapa" or brush, the "mapacho" or cigar and the "camalonga" or protective mixture also known as "arkana".

  • 22:00 Master Shaman invocation of the divine powers through chants, prayers and "ícaros" (inchantments) and “humeadas” or  cigar smoke blows.

  • 22:30 Taking of the concoction of "Ayahuasca" prepared by Master Shaman. The effects of "drink" are felt in about ten minutes. Purging is one of the purposes of the ceremony so nausea are common. In this way the body and spirit are cleaned and the damage and evil are expelled to make way for better health.

  • 00:00 At conclusion of ritual around midnight, after which participants will return to the lodge for the night.

  • 01:00 Overnight in the Amazon Camp.

    * Those participating in the Ayahuasca will be assisted by aides of the shaman when suffering the effects of the drink.

    ** The Master Shaman recommends to those who have taken ayahuasca to abstain them selves from alcohol or having sexual contact for four days.

    *** It is not necessary that all participants drink the ayahuasca. If they wish they can receive a bath or washing with flowers and plants or perhaps simply wish only to observe.

Day 03: Amazon Camp Lodge (B-L-D)

The Magic washing

  • 06:00 Early morning preparation of washing by Maestro Shamán using herbs to let the participants in perfect harmony. This washing is done before breakfast at a designated location of Momon River near the lodge.

  • 08:00 Breakfast at the Nanay / Momon gathering.

  • 09:00 Canoe trip and walk to know the riverine community of Padrecocha.

  • 13:00 Lunch.

  • 15:00 Esoteric afternoon session in which the Master Shaman will reveal the meaning of the hallucinations of the previous night. Tips by shaman to orient their lives according to the revelations expressed through the "intaking" of Ayahuasca.

  • 19:00 Dinner..

  • 21:00 Overnight stay.

Day 04: Amazon Camp Lodge (B)

  • 08:00 Breakfast at the Amazon Camp.

  • 09:00 Return to Iquitos by boat and transfer to your hotel or airport to board your flight to Lima at the right time.
